Fire Department

I would like to thank you from the school and the teacher at nccc who works with us. I have never been to the fire department before. We studied about the Fire Department. There is an officer who works with the Fire Department, six volunteers, plus equipment. I enjoyed my visit.

THE EQUILIBRIUM OF THE NATURAL BEAUTY

I LIKE THE COMPOSITION OF THIS PHOTO BECAUSE ALL THE ELEMENTS ARE IN EQUILIBRIUM. IT'S A NICE PICTURE OF GRESILDA & DAVID ENJOYING THE NATURAL BEAUTY.

Burr Pond

June, 6, 2010, we visited a very beautiful place named Burr Pond. There is blue sky, green trees, white sand and very clear water. In second picture, you can see the seeds in the water very clearly. It is a very good place for a picnic.

Trip to Burr Pond.

This lake is beautiful for fishing, paddling, walking, swimming, or to have a picnic. I have plans to catch a big fish.

AMPED UP

What an exciting project this is - a 125 feet high by 45 feet wide mural that thousands of people from all over the US will be working on is to be housed in Winsted. Ellen Griesedieck, the inspiration behind the American Mural Project, shared many stories with the ESL classes about the many people she has met while working on different parts of the mural. It will ultimately be a collaboration of projects from all 50 states.

Meeting Famous Artist.

Last week we went to visit the American Mural Project which was very exciting. We met the wonderful artist Ellen Griesedieck who is full of energy and ideas. She told us a lot of interesting things like different projects all over the country.
All her projects inspired all students and me. It was a very wonderful adventure especially to meet a famous artist like Ellen.I just want to thank the teachers for taking us to the great tour:)

Winsted Fire Department

We had a quick tour of the firehouse last Thursday and are all in awe of how well-maintained the fire trucks are. Our tour guides, Jim & Mark, wouldn't share their secret about what wax they use but they did let us inspect the trucks and even posed for a group shot. Our thanks to the many fire department volunteers who work so hard to keep Winsted safe.
